First of all you need to download COM Port Monitor. This is a professional application for COM port monitoring. It allows you to easily receive all information from serial ports and analyze COM port activity
2) Install and run the application.
3) Press "Session->New session" at the top of the screen in the main menu.
4) Now you can see the starting screen. Choose serial port you need to research. Program has 4 different views of information representing. Select all (further you can select views that you need). Choose "Start monitoring now" and "Start in new window". Then you should press "Start monitoring"
5)Now you can see new window with four types of visualization:
Terminal - shows all data you receive from COM port (ASCII). (My favourite view in this COM port monitor software).
Line - here you can look into detailed information about inquiry that got through serial line
Table - shows the table of the recorded IRPs
Dump - shows sent and received information that got through serial line.
